Just Another Ordinary Day...

Last night they were calling for 1-2 inches of snow down here! It didn't get cold enough, but it has been raining for two days straight. Our backyard looks like a pond and the streets are just one giant puddle. Jaxon and I are planning to stay in today and have a lazy rainy day.

Jaxon is no longer completely immobile. Although he is still not "crawling", he has managed to find ways to get from one end of the house to the other. He sits on his bottom, pulls his knees to his chest, then straightens his knees while pushing his bottom backwards. It is quite funny to watch. The other day he scooched himself right under my rocking chair.

Here he is in the tiny space under the rocking chair, with just enough room to fit his little body.

Although this is kind of a goofy picture, I was trying to capture the look on his face while he was under the rocking chair. He couldn't sit up straight, because the space is so small, but it didn't seem to bother him. He sat under the rocker laughing and smiling, until I finally pulled him out.

Here is Jaxon "helping" me put the groceries away. He loves getting into the kitchen cabinets. Jason and I have each managed to break one child safety lock on two different cabinets. Luckily the one I broke is to the Tupperware cabinet, which Jaxon loves to dig into. The one Jason broke is to one of my food drawers. I sat Jaxon on the floor of the kitchen while I was bringing the grocery sacks into the house, this is what I found upon one of my trips in and out. As I'm putting things into the cabinets, he is taking things out. Cooper loved this game! Cooper found some opened croutons and a bag of pretzels and he took off running with them!

Jason, Jaxon and I went to Tuscaloosa, AL to do some Christmas shopping a few weeks ago. We found this Jeep at Toys R Us and thought we'd see if Jaxon was a "Jeep kind of guy". Turns out, he looks great in one. The price tag on the last picture will let you know why Jaxon is not getting this for Christmas!

Hi Megan!
I LOVE reading up on how your family is doing! Jaxon is so adorable! Jason reminds me of my kids when they play school, mommy, dress up...the smile on his face is priceless! He's a big kid living a dream! I can truly tell you are enjoying motherhood too! Katie and Tristan went on a date to Mid America Nazarene College the other night. Michael W. Smith and the KC Symphony were having a concert. They said they were the youngest people by about 30 years but had a great time. Betsy is going to her school dance tonight. She's very excited, but daddy's not :) I think I've finally made her realize it's more fun to have lots of boyfriends rather than tying yourself down to one at age 13! We finishing up all the Red Bag wrapping at school today. It makes me think of your traditional trip to the homeless shelter to serve dinner. What a blessing you were to so many students at Cedar Creek! Have a fantastic Friday! Love, Stacey :)
