Kansas City Again!

Things are changing (again) for this military family! We were planning to leave Little Rock this week and head north to Peoria, but Jason's orders have been changed again! Such is the life. So, we're packing up our things and headed to Kansas City on Wednesday for a week or two. Jason's training is currently on hold. His next portion of training is water survival school, which is done in Pensacola, FL. Due to the oil spill, the survival school is closed until further notice. So, we wait. It's not all bad though. Jason has some extra time off and gets to spend it wherever he wishes. So, we are headed to KC for awhile to spend time with family and friends, then possibly up to Peoria to start looking for somewhere to live next month.

Disclaimer: I know that some of our "followers" are a bit frustrated with the lack of Dakota pictures. In my defense, I am almost always behind the camera and she is usually with me. Or if we're outside, she is usually inside in the air conditioning. I am trying to remember to do a better job of taking pictures of her, it's just that I tend to grab the camera when Jaxon is doing something or experiencing something and since she just sits/lays right now, I don't remember the camera with her as often as I should!

We are enjoying having Jason home and filling the time with as many fun activities as possible. This past week we went up to Kansas City for a few days to see family and catch up with friends. Here are some of the highlights:

SWIMMING:

Our little fish quickly took the water, and by day two, he didn't want anyone holding him in the pool! He is quite the daredevil, so we will be keeping a very close eye on him (as well as a life jacket)!

Our beautiful daughter hanging with her Uncle Nick. This was Father's Day and her shirt (appropriately) read, "Daddy's Little Girl".

Ouma with Jaxon's cousins; Braden and Wyatt.

Our sweet nephew, Braden, having fun in Memaw's pool.

Aunt Jamie and Cousin Wyatt.

GRANDMA AND GRANDPA HAGER'S:

Cooling off with some water while hanging with Grandpa.

Blowing bubbles with Grandma.

RIDING THE FOUR-WHEELER:
Please do not judge our parenting skills for the next few pictures. We did not take our son over 10 mph on the four-wheeler AND he wore a helmet the entire time.

Enjoying a ride with friend, Dawn.

Mama's turn to drive!

And there he goes with Daddy!

Is that not the cutest little guy in world?

Jax was so excited to ride with Memaw, he didn't even get out of his PJ's that morning!

FIRE STATION:
Our kiddos are so lucky that their Uncle Austin is a firefighter. One of the mornings we were in KC, we went to Uncle Austin's station to "play" on the trucks and tour the fire house. What a privilege!

We met Aunt Ninny (Jenn) and Page at the station.

Trying on Uncle Austin's helmet. Jaxon said, "It's heavy."

"Driving" the truck! This boy was in heaven. He pushed every button there was!

Ringing the bell on the truck.

Jaxon, Dakota, and Cousin Page in front of the truck.

Uncle Austin's locker. Jax liked all of the pictures of Page and her doggies in his locker.

Jumping on the new guy's bed!

Uncle Austin gets to meet Dakota for the first time!

COUSIN BRADEN'S 4TH BIRTHDAY:
We were so thrilled that Braden's birthday party was the same weekend we were in town. Jaxon had a great time playing water games, eating cake, and hanging out with his cousins!

Jaxon and Wyatt jumping off the stairs. This went on for quite awhile.

Wyatt is very excited to jump!

Cousin Rowan meeting Dakota for the first time.

Jaxon and Ouma cooling off in one of the pools at Braden's party.

Enjoying the sprinklers.

DAKOTA'S DEDICATION:
We had Dakota dedicated to our home church while we were there. What a special time for us. Jaxon was dedicated in 2008 on Mother's Day and Dakota was dedicated in 2010 on Father's Day - perfect!

It was special to have Jaxon up there with us. My friend, Hollie, took some better pictures that I will try to get on here.

Jax enjoying a laugh with Oupa!

NINNY'S POLICE CAR:
Our kiddos are lucky to have an aunt who is a police officers. My sister, Aunt Jenn (or Aunt Ninny as Jax says) was kind enough to meet us in her police car during shift one day. Once again, Jaxon was in heaven!

"Driving" Aunt Ninny's police. By the way, you can imagine that every police car (or anything that looks like a police car, including taxis and pizza delivery cars) are all called Aunt Ninny's Car and this is shouted from the back seat as we are driving.

I'm sure Aunt Ninny is giving some life-changing advice here. Or perhaps she's threatening him on the type of behavior she expects from him when he turns 16 and starts driving.

Loves his Ninny!
