Ever since Jason got his private pilot's license, most of the kids in our lives have found a sudden interest in airplanes. All of our nieces and nephews (minus the youngest) have all visited us on the Air Force bases and were fascinated with watching airplanes take off and land every day. Our five year old nephew, Wyatt, has even picked out an orange airplane, at a local airport by his house, that he wants Uncle Jason to fly him in someday. They talk about flying with Uncle J often, so Ouma and Oupa decided it was time to do something about it. They rented a four-seater airplane from the Gardner Airport and we spent Thursday morning in Kansas taking turns in the air. All of the Riggs cousins (except our youngest niece) got a turn flying with Uncle J, as did both his siblings, his parents and me! He took two kids and one adult up at a time, for a 30 minute flight each. He flew them over my hometown, over Memaw and Papa Schu's house, and then over Ouma and Oupa's house. The kids were all thrilled and are still talking about flying with Uncle J!! Awesome memories!

I took my camera up in the air with me and I was hoping for some great shots, it's a lot harder than I thought it would be! Our pilot brought us in the back of both houses, so I don't have any great shots from the front, but I think these turned out ok.

How cool is this??! Seriously. I want to fly with Uncle J. :) This is such a unique day of family memories. So fun for everyone to get to see Jason in action as well as get the amazing experience of flying--and over familiar territory. So cool!
