Christmas in Illinois

Because we drive to Kansas every Christmas, we've started a new tradition of having Christmas, with our little family of four, before leaving Illinois. Last year we tried it the night before leaving for Kansas, but that was a bit hectic with packing, cleaning, hockey game... This year we celebrated Christmas two nights before leaving. It was a wonderful night together. We started with a trip to Bass Pro Shop to see Santa. It's such a great atmosphere and really makes for a stress-free visit to Santa. After Bass Pro, we headed to Panera Bread for dinner, then finished the night at home reading the story of Christmas and opening gifts from each other. I'm so glad we've been able to create this tradition of celebrating Christmas together.
