Jason and I have been wanting to get the kids on skis for some time. My sister suggested we bring our gear and head to
Snow Creek, in Missouri, one day while we were in Kansas. So, the Friday morning after Christmas, we put Jax and Kota in ski lessons while Jason and I snow boarded and Memaw and Page went skiing. It had been 6 1/2 years since my last time, it was so fun to get back out on the snow! The kids lessons ended just before lunch, so we picked them up, grabbed some lunch and Jason and I traded in our boards for skis. With the kids just learning to ski, we knew it would be easier for us to help them if we were on skis too. We had such an amazing time watching them progress throughout the afternoon. Shortly after lunch, Jax was already begging to try the green and asking to ride the ski lift. Jason finally caved in and Jax was a champ! He got on and off the lift with ease and had no fear zooming down that big hill. Kota was riding up the tow rope by mid afternoon and I couldn't talk her into taking a break if I tried. Her goal was to ski through the obstacle course (under the sun bridge) by the end of the day and she did it several times! She was so proud of herself and told Memaw to clap every time! We're already trying to plan the next time we can get them on the snow (and of course Jax wants to learn to snowboard - good grief).

I think we figured out it had been 23 years since my mom last went skiing!

There goes Daddy and Jax, up the lift! |

Most of the crew, just missing Memaw and Aunt Ninny. |

Such a little stud! He loved it and wants to know when we'll buy
him his own skis (haha buddy!). |

Best day of Christmas break! Loved watching those kiddos take to skiing the way we did.
