Van Burean Train

We found a train that leaves from Van Burean, AR and takes passengers on a 3 hr round trip to Winslow, AR. Van Burean is about 2 hours from Little Rock, so we decided to take advantage of it while we were still living in the Little Rock area. With Jaxon's love of trains, we knew it would be a huge hit.

We had driven through Van Burean coming from Kansas City to Little Rock and thought it took about an hour and a half to get there. We left home about two hours before the train was to depart and figured we'd have plenty of time to get there and get checked in. Once we got in the car and pulled up our destination on the GPS, we realized that it would take us almost two hours just to get to the town of Van Burean, which would leave us very little time to get checked in and find our seats on the train. Jason wasn't sure it was worth it to drive all that way with the possibility that we may not get there on time to ride the train. But I wanted to chance it, so off we went. I regret that I broke speed limits barreling down the highway (sorry Jenn) with all my precious cargo in the car. We pulled into the train station at exactly the time the train was to depart. We saw the train still sitting on the tracks, so Jason jumped out and ran to beg the conductor to wait for us. He did and we were able to get settled and relax for a fun experience aboard an old-fashioned train. Jaxon had an amazing time and oooed and ahhhed out the window the entire time.

Looking out the window as we cross over one of three bridges.

Holding Sissy on the train! They both enjoyed themselves.

Going in for the kiss...

There it is!
