Wildlife Prairie State Park

Jason had a few days off when we first got to Peoria, so we wasted no time starting to explore the area. Jason found a cool place called, Wildlife Prairie State Park, just minutes outside of Peoria. We had a great time riding a train around the park, hiking through the park and learning about animals native to this part of the country. We are already planning another visit there this fall, when the weather cools down a little.

The first little family on the nature trail was a family of wolves. We took a picture of the Mama, who was posing in the shade for us. Oh, one of the baby wolves was named, Dakota. Ha!

And this picture is how we determine whether or not the day was a success. It was a fairly warm day and Jaxon walked several miles along the nature trail. He was wiped out by the time we finally got in the car!
