Drowning in Boxes

Those of you who check this regularly are probably beginning to wonder if we're still here. We are! I had to dust a one inch layer off the computer and use the shovel to dig through the pile(s) on the couch to find a place to sit, but we are here! So much has happened in the last few weeks; moving into our new home, Christmas in Kansas City, cruise to Mexico, our first snow in Illinois and Jaxon's first sledding adventure...

I suspect I'll be spending every spare moment trying to catch y'all up. I've been fighting some nasty sickness (off and on) for over two months now, Jax has croup, Dakota is sick, and Jason and I are both sniffling and living on less than 4 hours sleep. However, that is not my excuse for staying away from the computer for so long. My excuse is that I walk down a hall that looks like this:

every morning and if (big IF), the kiddos give me some free time, I feel guilty spending it on the computer, rather than sorting through boxes.

Those of you who know me well are probably predicting high blood pressure and an accelerated heart rate, due to the conditions I am living in. You would all be right, however, I am surprisingly not freaking out. I guess having two kids will knock the reality right back in to you. We work hard from sun-up to sun-down, but we've accumulated a lot of things the last (almost) eight years. Some of you have asked for pictures of our new house. I promise I will get some posted, but right now you would not be able to see the color of carpet (due to the massive amounts of boxes on the floor) or the paint coloring on the walls (due to the walls being lined with boxes stacked five high).

And of course, this type of thing continues to happen every time a box/tub/crate gets emptied:

If you don't hear from me in a few days, send help. I'm most likely buried in here somewhere:
